It’s also one of the only several vehicles in its class with all-wheel drive, which is helpful for those who live in snowy areas but don’t want to drive an SUV. There are quite a few versions to tempt you, so let’s take a look at the 2023 Toyota Camry trim levels and how they stack up against each other.

The 2023 Toyota Camry is a spacious mid-sized sedan that accommodates five people comfortably. Numerous trim levels are available that take the Camry from a low-cost family sedan to near-luxury fuel-efficient hybrid models. The 2023 Toyota Camry prioritizes the passenger experience by delivering a smooth, quiet ride and high-quality components throughout the cabin. The Camry LE comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic LED headlights, heated power-adjustable side mirrors with turn signals, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, cloth upholstery, three drive modes, keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, six-speaker sound system, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, front and rear USB ports, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen, the rear seats fold down 60/40.

When it’s required, forward collision mitigation alerts you of an impending crash and applies the brakes. Lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and road sign recognition are available for the base Camry LE trim.

2023 Toyota Camry SE, on the other hand, includes a few more sporty and luxurious features such as distinct exterior styling, which includes a black front grille, a rear spoiler with color-keying, and a chrome dual exhaust tip.

The front suspension is once again an independent MacPherson strut setup with a stabilizer bar, while the rear suspension is the multi-link system that includes a stabilizer bar and front strut tower bracing. Ambient interior lighting and LED back seat reading lights which brighten and beautify the interior of the vehicle are also standard.

If you’d like a panoramic glass roof with a front power tilt-and-slide moonroof you can have it, but it’s an option and not standard. Other options you might want to consider include a 10.0-inch color head-up display, top-quality JBL audio system with nine speakers, and 360-degree encircle camera are all available on the 2023 Toyota Camry XLE.

2023 Toyota Camry XLE vs. XSE trim levels

The 2023 Toyota Camry XSE is very similar to the 2023 Toyota Camry XLE, but there are some distinct features that might encourage you to take a step up in price.

They include a leather-trimmed tilt/telescopic steering wheel with paddle shifters, a better audio system, the Multi-Information Display (MID), Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), and a metallic interior trim with patterns that gives the interior an elegant and unique look.

The engine is a dynamic Force 2.5-Liter Injection 4-Cylinder DOHC D-4S with Eco, Normal, and Sport drive modes and Dual Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence (VVT-i). This unit produces 206 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque, giving it a little more power than the engine in lower trim levels.

The suspension is the same as the XLE, but you do get 19-inch alloy wheels, a gloss black grille, and dual exhausts.

2023 Toyota Camry XSE vs. TRD trim levels

The 2023 Toyota Camry TRD is the trim crafted for performance and provides the most power. It has a 3.5-Liter V-6 DOHC D-4S Injection Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) engine and Eco, Normal, and Sport drive modes.

However, this powerplant produces 301 horsepower and 267 lb.-ft. of torque that’s a big uplift on lower trims. It is an Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV), which means it’s still relatively environmentally friendly, for a V-6.

The suspension is a unique sport-tuned setup with independent MacPherson strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension, front strut tower bracing, TRD track-tuned front and rear coil springs, shock absorbers, and stabilizer bars.

Extra go requires extra whoa, so the TRD gets uprated brakes. The TRD trim level braking system consists of power-assisted ventilated 12.9-in. front disc brakes with dual-piston calipers; solid 11.06-in. rear disc brakes; red-painted front and rear calipers; unique brake booster and pedal stiffness tuning.

It TRD also features black-painted external mirrors and outer trim, 19-inch alloy wheels that are one-of-a-kind, and aerodynamic body trim that gives it better balance and speed. The underbody braces have been thickened, and rear seat V-bracing has been added. In addition, the TRD theme continues inside with customized red cabin accent seams and red seatbelts.

2023 Toyota Camry TRD vs. XLE V6 trim levels

This trim includes the same features as the XLE trim and the standard V-6 engine. A panoramic glass roof with a front power tilt-and-slide moonroof, dual chrome exhaust, a 10-inch head-up display, and a nine-speaker JBL audio system is also available on the XLE V6.

The XSE V6 shares the same functionalities as the XLE V6 and the four-cylinder XSE’s gloss-black trims.

It has to be worth considering that almost all the 2023 Toyota Camry trim levels apart from the TRD are available in a hybrid version. The hybrid versions have the exact specifications as the original trims.

The hybrid powertrain develops 208 horsepower from a 2.5-liter inline-four gas engine and two motors that make the Camry a very calm, quiet, and practical sedan. Which 2023 Toyota Camry trim should you buy?

The 2023 Toyota Camry lineup certainly delivers value for money. If you want a vehicle that blends value and efficiency with convenience and performance, the 2023 Toyota Camry XSE has to be the best pick.

If it were me, I’d go for the TRD. That’s the trim level for drivers who are all about performance and power, but is that what the Camry is for? If you love driving and you are happy to spend that much money on a new car, would you even be looking at a Toyota Camry in the first place? probably not.

No, the Camry is all about being sensible, practical, comfortable, reliable, safe, and excellent value for money. If you agree with that, then the XSE Hybrid has to be the best option here. It only costs $2,275 more than the XSE with the four-cylinder engine, but instead of the XSE’s 27/38/31 mpg for city/highway/combined driving, the XSE Hybrid gets you 44/47/46 mpg, respectively.
